Step 1
Please check from a competent astrologer whether or not Emerald suits
you. Wearing a gemstone that does not suit you as per your astrological
chart is not recommended. Gemstones bring changes in your natural energy
fields and wearing a non suitable gemstone can be harmful. Only upon
verification of the above, move to Step 2.
Step 2
Buy an Emerald on a Wednesday during the Shukla Paksha (the ascending
moon cycle). If you have problems purchasing an Emerald on Wednesday,
then, purchase it on a Friday. It is better still if Mercury is in its
own sign, Gemini or Virgo. Emerald may also be purchased when the
nakshatra (constellation) is Ashlesha, Jyeshtha, Revati, or Rohini.
Step 3
The ring should be set in Gold and the stone mounted in open backed ring
such that it can touch the finger that you wear on. The weight of the
Emerald should be not be less than 1.5 rattikas. (1 Rattika = 0.9
carats). Wear Emerald that have weight such as 5 to 5 ˝ rattikas.
Step 4
Upon receiving the ring, decide on the day to wear it keeping in mind
the rules given in Step 2. The ring should be worn two hours after
Sunrise.
Step 5
Sit facing East, North or Northeast on a green colored asana. Keep the
ring immersed in raw cow’s milk. Then wash it with Ganga-water or
water kept in a copper pot overnight. After it has been washed, keep the
ring on a green cloth on which a Mercury Yantra (numerical yantra may be
used) is drawn with red sandalwood paste or saffron or roli.
Step 6
Offer flowers, incense to the yantra and the Emerald and chant the
following mantra 108 times:
"Aum Bum Budhaye Namah Aum" or "Om
Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaaya"
Step 7
Wear the ring.
